In the early days, OS/2 seemed like the only Notes platform in town. Today you can run Notes on almost all the major operating systems and networks. Once installed, Notes operates the same way across platforms. Differences can arise, however, during installation. Since Notes’ OS/2 legacy makes this IBM platform the one with which most administrators are most familiar, this article outlines the features that you will want to understand and exploit when you install Notes on platforms that are not OS/2. It covers differences in installation, choosing network protocols, and post-installation tips and trivia.
