The ability to read, create, and update external text or spreadsheet files from a Notes application opens a world of possibilities for mail merge, charting, reporting, and much more. Gain entry points to access the OpenOffice.org (OOo) API with LotusScript and start integrating its read, write, and create capabilities for many file formats into your Notes/Domino applications. Although the code examples in this article focus on spreadsheet objects (sheets, cells, ranges of cells, etc.), the LotusScript library in the download database provides generic OOo API entry points for incorporating functionality from Writer, Draw, and other OOo office applications.
