Unauthorized access to data -- abuse of Internet privileges -- e-mail viruses ... denial of service (DOS) attacks. As the incidence of security breaches rises to dizzying heights, network security has become everyone’s business. Today’s Domino administrators need to be concerned, not just about Domino security, but about the total security environment. This means understanding the basic security issues and learning what goes into developing an effective network security strategy. That’s the purpose of this article: to get you up to speed on security issues and arm you with an approach to meeting them. In addition, this article provides sample code for automated checking of your environment’s Domino security, and it explains how to weigh risk and threat against the cost of counter measures.
