Lotus Notes: Document Imaging (LN:DI) products are designed to provide a well-integrated set of components for imaging within the Notes environment. The Lotus Image Viewer which comes bundled with the Notes Client allows users to view image objects. The optional LN:DI Professional Client allows the creation of OLE-embedded images from within Notes documents in addition to providing all the viewing capabilities of the Lotus Image Viewer. These viewers make desktop-based imaging a natural extension of the Notes environment. This article describes the new functionality of the R4 viewers in detail and discusses the administrative issues you need to consider to ensure a smooth and easy roll out of Lotus’ newest desktop imaging technology.
